ヒンディー語でターリーとは定食のことですが、その種類も様々。一般的にダールと言う豆スープのカレー(左上)、スチームライス、チャパティ(クレープみたいなもの)に加えて、メインのカレーが付きます。写真はエッグカレー。これはかなり庶民的なもので200ルピーくらいです。
Thaali means “Pre-fixed Lunch” in Hindi. Normally served with Dal (left top) – a pea soup curry, steamed rice especially in south and chapati – crapes. This is egg curry in local restaurant and only costs you INT 200.
ムンバイにはヨックモックの店舗があります。こちらは日本からの輸入品ですが、木箱バージョンがあったりして、高級な扱い。シガール20本入りで2000ルピー。日本の倍の値段。単純労働者の給与が300ドルくらいと仮定すると、1万円程度の高級お菓子なんですね。
Yoku Moku, one of famous JApanese sweets has a retail shop in Mumbai. Alll imported from Japan and 20 pieces “Cigar” costa you INR 2000. This is a double price that of in Japan. Assuming that labor’s salary in India is USD 300, this sweets is worth for USD 100+ in India!
前歯の補修部分が欠けたしまい、急遽現地の歯科医院へ。思った以上に清潔で、最新機器も導入されており、腕の良さそうな先生でした。
ふと目を開けると先生以外に4人くらいに覗き込まれていて、人それぞれ役割が決まっているようで、記録する人、補助する人、器具を手渡す人、掃除する人…。そんなに要ります？
Visited dental clinic as Filling has come out. Very clean, advanced machines and professional dentist.
When I opened my eyes I recognized at least 4 people were working together, one for supporting dentist, handing over equipments, recording, and cleaning. Do we really need so many people?
確かに四捨五入と言うけども、タックス分をRound upするのはねぇ。インドの端数計算のルールが未だによくわかりません。
I understand thus but why round up the tax? I still don’t understand Indian rule.
再び世界遺産であるエレファンタ島石窟群を訪ねました。船代は大人往復200ルピー、子供は2人で大人料金。島への入場料は大人5ルピー。寺院の拝観料は外国人は600ルピー、インド人は40ルピー。微妙に値上がりしていました。船着場からの機関車は往復10ルピーですが、人混みをかき分けて飛び乗らないといつまでたっても乗車できません。改めてシヴァの仏像の美しさを拝観しました。
Visited world heritage, Elephanta Island. INR 200 for the ship, INR 5 for entrance charge, INR 600 (Indian citizen for 40) for heritage site. Train in the island cost you INR 10 for return but without bravely jump to the crowds you will never get on the train. Beautiful Shiva statue.
新年最初のインド料理は、オー、カルカッタで。白と茶色で整頓された店内は清潔感があり、ちょっとした会食にも使えるお洒落なお店です。チキンやエビを中心としたカレーを注文。口に入れた途端に吹き出す汗。久々にインドローカルのスパイシーさを堪能しました。ノンスパイシーといっても辛いので子供にはキツイかも。
First Indian cuisine in 2019 was ‘ oh! Calcutta’ . Clean and comfortable interior and good for business formal. Ordered chicken and prawn based curry, got sweated just after one bite. For children even ‘non spicy’, it is too spicy.
初のVistara搭乗。タタ財閥とシンガポール航空の合弁会社。機内は綺麗だし、シートも悪くない。CAさんも愛想が良い。国内線にしては珍しく3クラス。ビジネス、プレエコ、エコノミー。現地のスタッフに聞いても、デリー路線はVistaraというくらいだから、かなり支持されているようですね。
My first time for Vistara, joint company with Tata group and Singapore Airlines. Clean aircraft, comfortable seat and smily cabin attendants. Now I like this.
着陸態勢に入っても窓の外はずっと雲だったので、思いがけず、ドスンという衝撃で着陸を認識。外は霧と大気汚染が混じり、10メートル先がはっきり見えません。流石にマスクを着用しました。
After announcement of approach for landing, I though we’re still in the cloud but suddenly touched down to the runway. Look, visibility is less than 10m, with fog and air pollution.
酒蔵を開き、成田で随分前に購入した日本酒を開けました。日本酒はムンバイでは手に入らないので貴重ですが、正月と言ったら日本酒かと。
Opened liquor storage and enjoyed Japanese Sake. It is quite difficult to find Japanese Sake in Mumbai , but for Japanese, it is important to feel “new year”.
