我が家の定番のGustosoが改装のため閉店となってしまったので、ドライバー君に「ピザ食べたい。新しい店ないか」と伝えると、少し悩んだ末に、「サー。前任はこのお店にも時々通っていた。大丈夫なはずだ」とのことで、1441 Pizzeriaに行きました。
1441が何を意味するのかは聞きそびれました。味は、まぁ、及第点かな。
Our favorite Gustoso is now closed for building maintainable. Asked my driver if he knows any good pizzeria around. He recommended this restaurant with comment “Sir, your predecessor is occasionally visited this restaurant so should be fine with you”.
I forgot to ask what 1441 stands for. Taste and price are okay.
インドは総選挙の真っ最中。警備の問題から7回に分けて各地域で選挙が行われます。例えば東京でも23区とそれ以外では選挙日が違うなど。出口調査は最後の投票日まで禁止されるという建前です。
インドはこのような国の祝日やイベント時は禁酒日となります。今回は選挙日の48時間前からドライデーが発令されました。ギリギリ25分前に滑り込んでお酒を購入。
India is the middle of the election. Because of security reason, it is divided into 7 days. For example, the date of voting is different from central London and urban area. Also exit survey is prohibited to avoid influence for subsequent election district.
As wrote in the past, in India, national holiday or the date for this kind of important event, it will be a dry day. This time dry day stated 48 hours before the 6pm of election date. I bought a wine just 25 mins before the deadline.

Visited carpet shop in World Trade Center in Mumbai. 6×9 feet carpet costs you around 3.5 Lakh, around USD 45k. Very soft feeling with silk made, but factoring in future use in Japan under the furniture, it would be wool. Yes it is not easy decision to the beginner, we just did window shopping.
パスポート紛失の証明を取るために貨物ターミナル近くの警察署へ。まさか滞在中に出頭するとは夢にも思いませんでした。
到着後グランドフロアの簡易机の前で業者とともに経緯説明。そして紛失登録完了。つまりまだ見つからないということ。
Visited police station near cargo terminal to obtain lost certification. I never imagined visiting police station during my stay in India. Explained to police officer the background together with cargo company. Successfully received certificate, meaning I have no ID now.
日本からの食料送付荷物を受け取りのためにパスポートを業者に預けるのですが、なんと税関エリアで紛失したと！
We deposit passport to cargo company when we receive cargo from Japan. But I was informed that cargo company lost my passport in custom area.

日本では宮崎、海外だとタイのイメージが強いマンゴーですが、実はインドが世界の約半分を生産する大国だって知ってました？このシーズンになると店頭には何種類ものマンゴーが陳列されます。
中でもアルフォンソはKing of Mangoで香りの強さ、味の濃さともに秀逸です。
今の時期は１つ150ルピー。現地の平均月収からすると１つ4-5000円くらいのイメージでしょうか。
真ん中に大きな種があり、ギリギリで避けようと思うとカットに失敗します。思い切って中心から5mmくらいのところをカットするとうまくいきます。切れ目入れて、反るように盛り付けるのがコツです。マンゴーはウルシ科ですので、アレルギーのある人は要注意。
You know what, you may imagine Mango is famous in Miyazaki (in Japan) or Thailand, but in reality India produces 50% of world produce. From April, so many varsity of Mangos will be displayed in the store.
Amongst that, strongly recommend to taste Alphonso, which is known as “King of Mango”. It is just INR 150 for the first harvest, JPY 4,000-5000 equivalents to local salary.
Mango has large seeds in the middle, so if best to cut Mango is to 5mm from the center. Unfortunately this fruits gives you a lacquer poisoning, so please be careful when you eat it.
三度目のタージマハル訪問。今回は初めて現地ガイドを雇いました。三度目だからいらない、と追い払おうとするも、「インド人価格で 1,500ルピー（外国人価格は2,500ルピー）で良いから」と粘られ、家族会議をしていると、最終的に「1,000ルピーでどうだ」と言われたので、カメラマン兼務と割り切って雇いました。
しかしこのガイドは英語も上手で、地球の歩き方では網羅されていないような小ネタや、ガイドならではの写真スポットもよく知っている。雇って正解でした。
途中で営業をかけてくる「カメラマン」は「50枚でDVD付で5,000ルピー」とプライスを提示してきますが、腕はマチマチですね。かなり大判の写真にしてくれるので、「5枚で500ルピー、それ以外いらない」というのでも良いです。全ては交渉次第。ちなみに写真を撮ってもらうならば「VIP ベンチのそば」を指定しましょう。それ以外で撮っても、まぁ絵にはなりません。ガイドが携帯でたくさん写真を撮ってくれますから。
This is my 3rd time visit to Taj Mahal. I hired local guide for the first time. “It’s my 3rd time, I don’t need guide”, I declined local guide’s offer, but “Ok, I can guide you at India price INR 1,500 (foreigner for 2,500)” and while I was discussing with my family he offered me “What about INR 1,000?”. I hired him as a photographer.
But this guide speaks very fluent English and he covered lot of story which we cannot finds daily in lonely planet type guide book. Also he knew lot of nice place for photo shoot.
By the way local photographer which propose you to take a picture normally costs you around INR 5,000 with 50 pictures + DVD. I doubt their skill and you can also negotiate such as “5 pictures with INR 500 only”. In case you ask for taking pictures to such a photographer, you should ask at the “VIP bench”. Other scene is not so nice. In case you have a guide, he is better than photographer, as he can take as many as pictures you want with your phone/camera.
