わずか50時間ほどの滞在で帰国の途に着きました。時差のおかげで毎晩2時過ぎまで仕事する羽目に会い、寿司も食べずに終わりました。悔しいので機内ではステーキ。食べてる途中に寝落ちしてしまいました…。

Coming back to Mumbai after 50 hours stay in Japan. Due to time zone gap, I had to work until 2am every day therefore missed to eat Sushi.
Enjoyed Bxxf steak in the plane but was so tired and fallen asleep in the middle of eating..

銀座四丁目。インドから来ているお客さんがどうしても銀座を見たいというのでご案内。明日は買い物だとか。

Famous Giza 4 chome crossing. Took my client from India. They told me they go for shopping tomorrow..

宿泊はアクセスの良いロイヤルパークホテル日本橋。隣がTCATだし、コンビニは目の前にあるし、和菓子もすぐに手に入るし。写真は昔住んでいたマンション。

Stayed at Royal Park Hotel Nihonbashi, which I believe best for business trip. Tokuo City Air Terminal, airport limousine bus terminal, is next door, 24/7 shop is just across the street, and we can get Japanese sweets easily. The picture is a flat where I used to live with.

建築には詳しくないのですが、時折、ムンバイの街並みの中にヨーロッパを感じます。

I’m not good at art, but I sometimes feel Europe in Mumbai.

フォート地区のKala Ghodaでフェスティバルをやっている、という話だったので訪れてみました。近代アートと思しき展示や、インドの伝統工芸品の販売、軽食の露店、など。まだこのイベントの良さが分からず、勉強が必要だと感じた週末です。

Visited Kala Ghoda street festival in near Fort area. Modern art by young creator, street shop for Indian traditional arts/items, street foods. I could not fully understand this fancy event, need more study about India.

マンションのセキュリティ。カードあるいは指紋認証をしないとボタンが押せないタイプです。「インドだから左指は登録しないのかな？」と思いきや、左指も登録してあります。使っている方はあまり見たことありませんが。盲点だったのはプールの帰りは指がふやけていて認識してくれないこと…。

Security system for the lift in the flat. Only works for ID or finger print. Left hand fingers are also registered, albeit in India. Never seen the person using left finger though. One problem for me is the way return from the swimming pool in my flat… you know.

会社のゲート前で早朝から牛乳を売る方。インドの牛乳は２枚目の画像のようにプラスチックの袋に入って売られています。「えー、そんなの飲めるの？」という方もいらっしゃるかもしれませんが、昭和時代にはテトラパックという牛乳が給食で提供されていましたし、小分けで、形状をあまり気にせず輸送できるので便利なのかもしれません。

Milk sold in from of our office from early in the morning.
In India, milk is sold normally in pouch bag (plastic bag). You may be surprised, but in 30 years ago in Japan, milk was served with “Tetra Package” at school lunch which you can sea in 3rd picture. Small and flexible package may have some advantage for the delivery.

紙事情その2。芯の大きさに比べて紙の量が圧倒的に少なく、日本のトイレットペーパーの半分くらいのサイズです。ええ、当然紙質はカチコチです。キッチンペーパーか、と突っ込みたくなる硬さです。まぁ、お国柄、ローカルの方には基本的に不要なんですけどね。

Paper No.2. Toilet paper is half size that of Japanese one. Yes, this is “hard” type paper and quality is similar to paper towel.. No one cares because no need for locals…
